I have 2 nationalities Thai – Japanese. I went to Embassy of Japan when I was 20 to dicided about my citizenship that I want to choose. Officer at embassy said I can hold 2 nationalities because Japanese government can’t do anything if I keep 2 nationnalities but what I’ve heard is if u don’t renounce nationality when u turn to 22 u will lose japanese nationnalities immediately. I’m concern about it if anyone can help me answer this i will be appreciate.

If you have both citizenships and the officer at the embassy said that to you, you will be fine.
Google search for the win. Took me 10 seconds to find this…. https://www.moj.go.jp/EN/MINJI/minji06.html
Just keep saying you are choosing Japan when you are asked, but don’t do anything about your other nationality. If someone asks, say you are trying your best to keep only you japanese nationality. It’s a grey area and Japan doesn’t do much about it unless you do something illegal.
There are some posts about this here, you should read them too.
What? No. The only way you can lose the Japanese nationality is if your passport expires. If you always keep both passports renewed then you keep both nationalities.
