USJ tickets – how to purchase via Apple Pay?

We’re trying to purchase USJ tickets including Express Passes. However on the Japanese website it states that they are not accepting foreign-issued VISA / MasterCard credit cards at the moment.

We’ve read on here that some people have managed to get the tickets via the Japanese USJ website or the USJ app using Apple Pay. However when we tried this, on the payment page there are only two options: VISA/MasterCard/AMEX/etc or instructions to purchase via Lawson. There’s no Apple Pay option. We’ve tried on desktop, laptop, and iPhone and it’s the same.

Can someone please explain how to purchase tickets via Apple Pay? Also do AMEX cards work?

PS: I understand Klook is an option however their tickets do not allow you to select your Super Nintendo World / Wizarding World entry times so it’s a suboptimal option.
