I hope flight prices come down from triple what it cost 3 years ago
With or without masks?
Lol no one wants to come to a country that is still stuck in 2020.
The other day I was told to wear a mask & not talk while waiting for my food as a ramen place. It’s like China here compared to the west
If anyone is thinking that Japan is cheaper now that ¥ is down
Yen went down by 30%
But the prices increased by 80% (at least at the places where I eat)
It’s always hilarious when a xenophobic society gets hooked on tourism. Get rekt racists
This all depends on Chinese tourism no? Isn’t this out of Japanese control?
Currently living in Japan for work and the big thing if they want people to come visit is scrap the covid rules. I lived in Sweden for 2020-2022 and just needed a Vaccine or a test to enter no masks needed. Meanwhile it’s almost 2023 and I have to have a mask and wear gloves to go for breakfast here…
I’m currently in Japan and color me surprised when their credit card billing system has returned to pre 2012 Japan. Gone are the contactless payment with credit cards. Every shop I’ve been to has been such a hassle to use them with.
And worst of all JR rail has stop taking foreign credit cards for Apple Pay and Google wallet for topping up of digital Suica. Their physical ticketing machines have also stopped taking credit cards (only the counters accept them)
PSA: Bring lots and lots of cash or get cash out of the ATMs.
Westerners need not worry. The majority of tourists to Japan are from China, Korea, and Taiwan. Only about 10% of tourists are from the West.
Lotta people in this thread crying about wearing a mask in a country that has always been about wearing masks 🤣
That won’t take much effort when the yen is 80% weaker by then.
