2. If he’s healthy enough, he should be IWGP Heavyweight champ by 2024. Next year should be a slow build for him to earn his shot. Fantasy booking for me was for him to get a shot on WK 18, lose, then probably win the big one on Dominion.

9. I love Shibata. If he did this match with an organization known for a strong commitment to wrestler safety, then I’d be bananas about this. But it’s AEW, and we have no idea what their protocols are. They don’t even give official statements for most major injuries. Never find out what the injury is unless the wrestler shares it. Too many times I’ve seen AEW point out catastrophic injuries that were narrowly avoided by mere inches. Their work in AEW is sloppy and I don’t see these dangerous mistakes made nearly as often in NJPW and WWE. I hope Shibata has his match with Danielson and that’s the end of him in NJPW. If NJPW doesn’t feel comfortable putting him in the ring, which is obvious they don’t, that’s all I need.
