  1. I saw 誤認 can be used as a transitive verb. Could it be like xはyに誤認された ? x was mistaken for y? Or xはyを誤認された ?

  2. I was wondering about this:

    > 巨木が影を作るトンネルの向こう、明るい日を浴びた草むらに、動く気配がある。

Context: Some characters are running from a monster in a forest. Then they suddenly stop and the narrator says the above sentence.

What I don’t understand is, how can 巨木が影を作る apply to トンネル?

I’m fairly used to verbs and such qualifying nouns but this one seems off to me. It seems weird to think of a “tree making a shadow tunnel”

I guess it could be a tunnel in the shadow of the tree, but I think I’m missing something here.

The rest seems to be, “beyond the tunnel, in a grassy place bathed in bright sunlight, there is signs of movement”

  3. Does anyone here have a technical understanding of what the TAB key does in IMEs(Microsoft’s and Google’s). Like, I know that they predict what you want to type like an auto-complete and I know they are suggestions, but they work differently from the space key suggestions. Sometimes there will be stuff that is suggested on the “TAB selection” that aren’t in the IME dictionary at all, so they don’t show up in the “space selection”, and it also detects some words in other languages for easy passthrough. So I wanna know what exactly is it doing, does it have some internal database that is different from the dictionary? Does it look up stuff on the internet when it has a connection? Does it “learn” from what you type and stuff? What I’ve noticed the most is that the “TAB selection” will usually have uncommon people name’s that aren’t in the dictionary.
