Always thought it’s weird there is not more geo thermal power usage in Japan.
So what? It’s not like japans going to give a shit
Of course the article comes from kyodo news.
Please let us know the number we can fax our abundant regrettable-ness to.
Good for japan. All those carbon emissions kiddos will eventually subside when there will be nothing to drive and nothing to warm your houses.
PS it’s funny how kiddos downvote. Hope this make them feel better about themselves
In Japan EVERYTHING is wrapped quite extensively (individual vegetables, bananas, eggs, individusl cookies in a carton, etc). They also have tons of small single serving food items in non-recyclable plastic containers. The wrapping and plastic containers here in Japan creates exponentially more wastage in my home than when I was in America. Multiply this by the population and I understand why Japan would get such an award. The excessive wastage this country creates is an environmental tragedy.
They only recycle PET bottles, but the vast majority of the plastic, cardboard, and foam wrapping is burned or possibly dumped in the ocean. Shame on Japan.

Japan has so much waste and is so damn slow, I’m not surprised by this. Yet, it tries to BS everyone that the country is somehow super eco lol
The (not so) fun thing is most of my Japanese friends believe that Japan is very green and does “lots” of recycling …, yeah one can wish.
The media coverage is paltry and so there’s almost no sense of environmental emergency in Japan. A largely complacent population living oblivious to the reality other nations and citizenry think about every day.
How come trash sorting is so complicated then? Do people do all that work for all the trash to end up together in the end?
They keep on giving the award to Japan because they know that Japan doesn’t care and won’t raise hell like if they gave it to the US. It’s like a safe black hole for ranting
The Japanese are like sheep, they’ll follow whatever is being fed to them. They have zero ability to free think let alone critically think! They truly believe that they are the smartest people on the planet. 😆
