I flew from Osaka -> Tokyo -> Vancouver -> Denver
I brought back a luggage of souvenirs for my family and when I got back it looked unscathed but it is just missing things?
I feel crazy and now I’m like did i even pack the stuff? I know i did
I’m missing a matcha tea kit i got for my sister
It was a box that had a bowl, a bamboo whisk, bamboo scoop, and a container of matcha
I’m confused because I know i packed it but it’s just not there
Was it confiscated? If so do they leave a letter
Another thing I brought back was a packaged pastry sort of ring thing so I guess i understand if that was confiscated cause it’s food but not of my other food candy items or packaged goods were taken
Anyone have info on stuff being seized

TSA usually lets you know if your luggage has been opened for inspection.
Sounds more likely you did actually forget to pack it or it’s not unheard of for unscrupulous airport staff to open your bag and take stuff as it’s not like your luggage is protected while it’s in transport to the plane and back to the airport. It’s why people pay premium for secure suitcases.
This is why I plan on shipping stuff home
