Help needed finding a word

Tl;Dr, I need to find the word which describes “the one and the whole”

A few years ago Yamaha (company that makes motorcycles and pianos etc) has released a car concept called the sports ride. In an interview I watched with one of the designers he had mentioned a word used to guide the design philosophy and I cannot for the life of me find it anymore – I used to be able to with a quick Google search but Google search has gone so far downhill it’s showing me Jamie Oliver’s mayonnaise recipes and such instead.

I believe a close English equivalent is Elementalism – where each part is complete on its own, while establishing overall harmony.
It expresses the beauty of “the one and the whole” as described on the English Yamaha website.

I am designing some parts and wanted to explore further examples of this style but until I find that word again I seem to be completely stuck!

Many thanks in advance.

  1. Do you still have access to the interview? The Yahama sports ride website calls it an elementalism design, presenting beauty through a fusion of “the one and the whole” (個と全). Which is essentially the same as their English translated website and probably not helpful at all…
