PC repairing services in Tokyo: any recommendation?

My PC won’t charge, and I suspect it is the DC IN cable.

Where should I go to repair this and how much should I expect to pay, in Tokyo (23区)? I went today to two shops in Nerima-ku, but they were closed (one was PC Depot which was nearby).

**Some more info:**

* Initially, I thought it was my charger, but I checked with a multimeter and it has current. So I opened it to check if something burnt, but I couldn’t tell. Everything looked normal (couldn’t check the CPU because one screw was busted, unscrewable – no more paste). Didn’t look like it. So, I think it might be the DC IN cable (120 W). However, I had a hard time getting it out since it is connected to the screen latch.
* After my PC suddenly shut down, while using it, I plugged in the battery and it was working, so no other issues, I think. However, since it won’t charge, I’m no longer able to use the battery to check its condition.
* I would order the cable and try it myself, but I couldn’t tell on how to remove the connector (which is connected to the screen latch, but I couldn’t see a screw to remove it).
* The laptop is a 7 year old [HP ENVY Notebook – 17-n001np (ENERGY STAR)](https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-17-n000-notebook-pc/7771351/model/8688010).

Thanks.

  1. 7 years old device is basically ancient in computing. You’ve also already opened it and poked around inside. My guess is, any place that would even bother looking at a non-domestic, 7 years old model will charge you a *minimum* of 10k to look at it, plus labor, plus parts cost (not actual cost but their own guess at parts cost), and total would be somewhere around 20-30k.

Googling パソコン修理 秋葉原 [or any other location in tokyo you can get to easily] and just calling them all and asking if they will even take a look at it is probably your best course of action. Just keep in mind it will not be cheap.

  2. Have you considered if the issue could be with the battery? After 7 years it could be in need of replacement.

  3. in yokohama the price for only check is 5500, if it can be fixed it is around 10,000+part price(if you buy byyourself the needed part sometime the price is cheaper than buying from the store, but there is a risk if the part is defective) , if the dc plug is attached to the logic board and need soldering skills the price could be around 20-30,000.
