Because Japanese porn does a lot of mosaics. In return, they generally delve into some really dark stuff. Stuff that makes “older classmate” telling “younger classmate” what to do look tame.

Like another user said, it’s mostly just porn unfortunately. There’s quite a bit of average words that have become sexualized just because of it.
> Why do people sexualize “senpai”?
**Why** is the wrong question.
Think of just about **_any_** word or topic. Then (on a non-work computer, and not at work) search online for that as porn. You’ll probably be able to find something.
> Why do people sexualize “senpai”?
There’s nothing inherently sexual about it.
There’s nothing inherently sexual about little people doing housework, or pizza delivery, or washing machine maintenance. But hey, lookie there! Porn!
> Why do people sexualize “senpai”?
Because people are horny bastards and someone somewhere gets turned on by it.
Because they didn’t study the language. That’s all they know.

Well, people sexualize older people. Authority people. Superior people…. Why not?
Only people who don’t speak japanese do that
It’s a hentai trope. As is Yamete kudasai which literally means please stop. D + S is pretty big. They’re actually not in daily real life in Japan though. It’s a weeb / internet thing.
I’ve lived in Japan a long time and I wasn’t aware of this. Who is sexualizing it?
Sadly jp language is being sexualized because of stupid anime (hentai) fans. They ruin everything.
A little off-topic, this isn’t the first time I’ve heard a question of “Why do people sexualize [insert topic here]?”
Seriously? Have we come to a point and time where people have forgotten Rule 34??? Topical Sexulization on the internet has been going on for about what roughly almost 3 decades now. The real question is why are people so surprised at Sexualization in the first place? It was and still pretty much is still in advertising, in various media, hobbies, and any form of a medium when it can show up with the right type of imagination, this shouldn’t be surprising anymore.
