Honestly for the best because it sounds like summer would have been brutal and my husband is able to save up more PTO so he won’t have to work remotely over the trip.
There will be 3 adults and one toddler (2 years old at the time) traveling.
I’d love any feedback on our new itinerary:
5/13-5/14 Travel days.
– Check into hotel- MIMARU TOKYO ASAKUSA STATION
5/15
– Uneo Park
– Yanaka Ginza
– Senso-ji
5/16
– Gotokuji Temple
– Hanegi Park for toddler to run around
– Thrift in Shimokitazawa
– date night at Gyukatsu Ichi Ni San in Akihabara
5/17
– Ota Memorial Museum of Art in the afternoon
– Takeshita street and surrounding area shopping
5/18
– Tsukiji Outer Market
– Teamlab Planets
-Take Tokyo River Cruise from Toyosu back to Asakusa?
Look into checking out Asakusa Sanja Matsuri Festival sometime over the following few days? Would it be too overwhelming for a toddler?
5/19 – move hotels, MIMARU TOKYO SHINJUKU WEST.
– Visit Meiji Jinju (12 minute walk from hotel to west access point)
– Shibuya Sky
– Shibuya Scramble crossing around dark

5/22 activate 2 week JR pass – Tokyo to Nagoya
(Forward luggage to hotel in Kyoto)

– Inuyama Castle

– Ghibli Park, hopefully we can get tickets to at least one or two of the park’s sites.
– Head to Kyoto
– Hotel- MIMARU SUITES KYOTO SHIJO
5/24
– rent kimonos – Yume Kyoto Kodaiji Shop
– Kodai-ji Temple
– eat lunch at Yoshimura Kiyomizu-an.
– Kongoji (Yasaka Kōshindō) Temple
– Maruyama Park?
– Kiyomizu-dera around 4 pm.
– walk around Gion and Yasaka Shrine.
5/25
– Take a taxi to Kinkaku-ji and arrive around 8:45
– Kitano-temmangū Shrine, check out flea market.
– Eat lunch at Sarasa Nishijin.
– Head back to hotel to rest a bit.
– Shop along Shijo-dori
