  1. Whenever he’s world champion I hope he gets a match at the Anniversary show against either Hiromu or Robbie.

  2. Got introduced to Ospreay about 3-4 years ago. Did this guy play any sports or do any sort of gymnastics? Cause the crazy acceleration and jumping ability show he’d be amazing in other sports. Curious if any knows his background

  3. Hiromu is more than ready to go up to the HW division the only thing preventing it is the fact that the jr division is pretry thin.

With covid behind us (but not totally) the company has manage to get gaijins to fill in the slots and hopefully able to sign them on especially with ace zayne bey and so forth.

Hopefully this buffer and individuals which i have strong believe are able to add more to the jr division and let hiromu go to HW where we can finally see these 2 guys cross path again. Hiromu arsenal also has been more and more leaning towards HW type too so maybe there is a chance in the future.

  4. Wish New Japan was more willing to go with openweight matches. Would open the door to a lot of banger matches, without having to pull talent from other promotions

  5. Please no
Hiromu is a great wrestler, this was just willy showing off his amateur gymnastics.

  6. Yeah it’s a shame that this rivalry just disappeared completely after ospreay went heavyweight even in lij ue tag matches they don’t interact.

I like the ideas posted here of a anniversary match or a new japan cup match.

  7. Honestly, I would love for Hiromu to move up to the heavyweights. They desperately need fresh blood in the WHW title picture, especially a passionate babyface that hasn’t won the belt to chase it. Hiromu could fill that role quite well.

  8. Not sure what the chances of this ever happening are, but if they both become IWGP champion at the time of the Anniversary show, they could have the traditional inter-division match. And the storyline would write itself— Hiromu fighting to prove that junior heavyweights can be every bit as good as heavyweights, and Ospreay fighting to prove that he’s finally surpassed Hiromu, who he’d always tried to supplant as the Ace of the division but never could.

  9. Wrestle Kingdom 14 was the first NJPW event we had watched (I had seen the occasional match here and there, but never a full event). We rewatched this moment so many times that I knew which clip this was going to be. We became fans of both Ospreay and Hiromu immediately. My wife and I were so happy to get to see Will vs Karl Fredericks live from the front row last year in Dallas.

  10. Seeing this in the middle of a match gives it a lot more weight and excitement than just this clip. I love spot fests, but it’s funny seeing a lot of people shitting on this spot randomly. Getting heavy Cornette vibes in this comment section

  11. This is one of my favorite spots in recent years. I sat here in my chair jaw on the ground when I first saw it. Still love it.
