End of March and the beginning of April, for a total of 18 days.
**TOKYO – 3 NIGHTS** I’ll spend the first 3 days in Tokyo, with base in Ueno. I will visit the museums at Ueno park, the Senso-ji temple, Akihabara, the Imperial Castle, and the museums near the port and in Roppongi.
(Is it too much planned for 3 days?)
**FUJIOKA – 1 NIGHT** I will arrive at mount Fuji around mid-day and then go on the ropeway, visit the museums in the area and go to a onsen/sento. The next morning I will go around the Five Lakes area with a local guide in his car, and then travel to Kyoto and arrive there in the afternoon/evening.
(Do I have enough time to visit Hakone on the first or the second day? How far is it from Fujioka? Is it worth it?)
**KYOTO – 3 NIGHTS** I will visit Kyoto and spend one full day in Nara. The fourth day I will visit Himeji castle and then travel to Hiroshima. Before leaving, I probably will leave most of my stuff in a locker.
**HIROSHIMA – 1 NIGHT** I will arrive late in the afternoon. The next day I will visit the city, the Peace Museum and then travel to Okayama.
**OKAYAMA (NAOSHIMA) – 2 NIGHTS** I’ll reach Okayama in the evening, the next day I’ll visit Naoshima island and then sleep again in Okayama. The next morning I’ll go back again to Kyoto.
**KYOTO – 2 NIGHTS** Two full days in Kyoto.
(Should I spend one day in Osaka too? Is it worth to visit the Kurama-dera temple?)
**KOYASAN – 1 NIGHT** One night in a temple, then back to Tokyo.
**TOKYO – 4 NIGHTS** Based in Shibuya. I will visit Shibuya and Harajuku, the museums in the area, (hopefully the Ghibli museum/park will be open to foreigners by then), and do (some) shopping.
One of those days left in Tokyo I want to visit Kamakura and mount Nokogiri. Can it be done the same day? Would it be easier to rent a car? Google says it is 3 hours with public transport to reach the base of the mountain, it should be 1 hour with the car. Has anyone been there?
Overall, does it works? Could it be more efficient? Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks!
