Do you guys mind sharing your situation?

  1. CAD operator for a small company.

    First year, 5
    Second year, 10

    Hoping for 15 next year.
I think they max out at 20 but if you didn’t use anything for a year then they can stack with the next 20 to a total limit of 40.

We’ve got a flex system in place too, so I’ve been coming in every Saturday to stack up overtime for my trip home next month as I pissed through my PTO in the first 2 months of the year lol.

When I was an English teacher I think we got 10 days, plus some public holidays and about a month PTO over Xmas/New year, good times.

  2. I get 24 paid leave per year, stackable up to 45 days in one year (if there is lefover from the previous years).

there are also additional obon (5days) and yearend (5days) holidays on top of calendar holidays

  3. Work for an American company here. I get 20 plus 5 sick/personal leaves every year. Unused ones get carried over to the next year but the cap is at 40.
This year I currently have 32 left lol planning to use most of them at the end of the year for a month long vacation.

  4. This year I got 14 days + 3 days summer leave (+ COVID booster vaccination leave, if the vaccination date falls on a weekday).

  5. 30, but our unused days roll over so I’ve currently got 45. I think it caps at 60. I’m a private school teacher.

  6. Zero.

In May I asked for 2 weeks off around Obon to visit family. Boss started piling on extra shifts since then to make up for the holiday.

Not going to feel bad when I leave the place.

  7. 14 now.

10 days for first year, + 1 for second year, then +2 for each year after until max 20 days.

Also, 3 days special paid leave in the summer, but 1 to 2 of those (depending on year) everyone must take on specified days during obon.

We also get off time at the end of the year of New Years.

  8. Honestly don’t think my company keeps track unless you start taking too many days off.

  9. Private school teacher.
20 regular paid holidays per year.
Unused days till over up to 40 days max.
Special days for wedding, birth, death are separate from that.
With corona now we can’t work if we or anyone we live with has “cold symptoms” so it’s easy to get extra free days off it you want to go that route as well. That’s said doing so fucks the poor sod who suddenly has to cover your classes.

  10. Previous companies all has been the standard 10 days with more days added every year.

Current company start out with 20 days. Plus paid child care leave (via company, so this is extra over the government child care leave), paid sick leave, plus 20 days sabbatical every 4 years etc. So quite a lot from the start.

    European company, so that’s why.

  11. Unlimited PTO, but if you do a quick Google, you’ll find out that unlimited isn’t really unlimited and is designed to make you take less days off.

At least I don’t have to stress about getting sick and losing PTO.

  12. I have unlimited PTO as far as the work is done and it doesn’t interfere with my teammates PTO schedule (it has to be a first responder available in the team all the times) – I normally take around 6-8 weeks a year.

  13. About 45 days vacation by default, plus an additional 20 days annual leave. Yup, teaching does have its perks.

  14. 28, Japanese company. I’ve been here a few years so the 10 became 20 and some then there are additional holidays

  15. Japanese company. I get 30 days per year, plus another 10 days that we need to take in two sets of 5 consecutive days. We can carry unused days over to the next year.

  16. – 30 paid annual leave days with roll over
    – 14 days sick leave
    – 14 days bereavement
    – 10 days Covid leave

After a few years of barely using them I accrued 100+. More than I would ever use. Sadly, Japan doesn’t seem to believe in paying out unused time off.

  17. Unlimited. They are super lax about work hours also. As long as I get my work done they just leave me to it.

  18. Unlimited, working remote. Actually probably take less than if actually had a set amount though!
