“Phrasing!”

A recent post got me thinking.. A question for all you speakers/learners out there:
What’s the most surprising (or your favorite) difference in phrasing/expressions between English and Japanese? Just thought it would be fun to get everyone’s thoughts 🙂

  1. One of my favorites is 口寂しい [くちさびしい]. It is the concept of eating, not because you’re actually hungry, but simply because your mouth is lonely. I so get that concept! I don’t think there is any single-word English equivalent.
