is it possible for foreign nurses to move to Japan?

Hi everyone, I’m a nursing male student from Europe (Italy to be exact). I’ll be graduating in April, and I’m going to leave Italy after university. I can speak English and a little bit of German. Also, I’ve been studying Japanese for 5 months. I’m aware that it would be easier for me to move to countries like Ireland, Germany or any Scandinavian country, but East Asian countries, languages and cultures have always interested me, and I like Japanese language, culture, cooking, etc.

Is it possible for foreign nurses to move to Japan and get a job as nurse there? If so, what should I do? Also, Which cities should I consider?

Thanks in advance.

  1. Sure it is possible. I have included a link at the bottom that explains it quite well. (Caveat: the information is by a language school, and although the info is good and accurate, they are ultimately wanting to acquire students, so just remember that. Also, always remember that I could be wrong, and info changes.) The main requirement, as far as I can tell, is that you need two years of experience in your home country, pass a Japanese language test, and then pass the national nursing exam. Otherwise, you can go through the Japanese university system and earn your nursing degree here; of course, you will need to have a high enough language level for that. Anyway, it is doable, and here is the link:
