Hello everyone, I just came a few days ago to Omaezaki for work and will stay here for the next 6 months. I was wondering does anyone know is there a gym in the city with someone in staff that speaks English?
Also what is the procedure of joining a gym in Japan, can I go to it without a contract?

You’re in Japan now. Start learning Japanese. It’s a gym, it’s not like you’re going to be talking to them about complex topics like the second law of thermodynamics. Even just a little bit goes a long way.
City run gyms 市民体育館 will all be different in terms of equipment and space. There is no contract and four sessions in the weight room is 1,000 yen. All private gyms that you go to will ask you to sign a contract.
If you have tattoos, I’d recommend that you keep them covered initially. Some places will ask you to keep them covered, others won’t even let you sign a contract. Sorry, I can’t help you out with English speaking staff.
