Oh man, I walked by a Dennys when I was in Japan and really regret not trying it.
I wish Denny’s in US would serve something like this at this quality
The whole genre of Youshoku–western-style food as interpreted by Japanese restaurants–is seriously worth a look. Plus substantial parts of Marakami’s novel “After Dark” take place in a Tokyo Denny’s. I’ll have the omuraisu with demiglace, please.
I still dream of Japanese Denny’s.
ok, i fucked up. i shoulda tried denny’s at least once in japan. i love yoshoku dishes!!
Denny’s in Tokyo ruled. Cheap food that was great, plus a choice between American and Japanese breakfast. Bonus, since I still smoked at the time, is I could get the authentic Denny’s experience by sitting in the smoking section.
Looks amazing. I didn’t even know Japan had Denny’s
Japanese Denny’s the best Denny’s
can you tell me a bit what in the dish? Look to me a Panko shrimp with Tartar sauce, hamburger steak with some kind of tomato sauce? Some kind of a fried rice (please let me know what it is, can’t figure it out), and some potato wedges w/ cheese and something kind of sauce?
I went to a Dennys in Japan like .. 35 years ago I think? A long time ago, I was a little kid. I had spaghetti bc it was the most familiar looking thing on the menu. It had tobiko or masago on it. I was weirded out but tasted good and obv I never forgot it heh.
If I ever get the chance to go to Japan, I want to make a point of visiting all these same chains we have in the USA just to see the difference in quality. I did so while visiting the UK years ago and was absolutely blown away by the difference in quality and menu.
Hmm…This or Moons Over My Hammy..? Tough decision.
Even in Japan they seem to do out diner food better haha. But hey, I did once go into a Dennys in America and order Chicken Parmesan (because it was 8 at night and I didn’t want breakfast or a sandwich or a burger) and I gotta say it was not bad at all. Nothing I’d rave about but pretty good considering the restaurant.
