Hello everyone. Not sure if this is the correct sub so apologies in advance if it isn’t.
I’m looking to move to Japan. I’m an electrician by trade with 12-15years experience.
My question is what visa would be the best to get? I don’t have a degree, how does that affect my visa application?
I know I would have to retrain to the Japanese standards, and have a very good knowledge of the language.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

In order to get a work visa, a Japanese company has to sponsor it. In order to work more than 28 hrs/week you must have a work visa. Also I could be wrong, but I’m 90% certain a company will not (possibly cannot?) sponsor your visa unless you have a degree. I was living there for a few years on a work visa. My company hired my husband but only part time because he did not have a degree and they couldn’t sponsor his visa.
