Are there any good n3 level visual novels for Nintendo Switch?

I just started studying for the n3 about 3 weeks or 4 weeks ago. I want a really fun but challenging way to immerse!

  1. N3 is a bit low for most visual novels. You might have better luck trying a JRPG instead first, to get used to playing games with a lot of reading. Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest are always good choices.

From what I hear, the Professer Layton series has visual novel elements but is not as intense as other titles, so maybe try that as well.

If you’re set on trying a full on visual novel, Fate/Stay Night is one of my all time favourite reads. The Realta Nua version (remastered version that cuts out all the hentai nonsense from the original) is available on mobile if you make a Japanese iTunes account, which is easy to do. I think it’s also on the Google Play store but I’m not sure. The first route, the Fate (Saber) route, is free so you can try it out and see what the difficulty is like.

  2. [Root Letter](https://vndb.org/v18644) was my first VN at that level. The player’s role revolves around wandering around an unfamiliar city as a tourist and asking the locals for specific information. Those are tasks someone should be able to do at N3.

It’s not the best-known (much less “best”-anything), but as far as “VN depicting a fairly realistic situation someone might be expected to be able to handle at N3,” I’m tempted to call it best at *that*. The only reason I hesitate at all is that I’ve only completed one other VN after Root Letter.
