Beehives in Japan

I’m mostly curious if others have done this or set it up themselves, but genuinely interested in setting up some beehives in the back of our house, (there is a cliff face and small jungle out the back of our place where it would be good to set up). Has anyone done it before? Is it even possible in a urban area in Japan (suburb of yokohama), or many something with so much red tape not even worth it.

  1. I was thinking about doing this a couple years ago, but didn’t pursue it. I was looking at the following site for information and the owner of the page invites people to contact them via their facebook page for more info.

  2. This comes up more often than you’d think. I looked into it about 6-7 years ago and my neighbors nixed the idea of me having “dangerous stinging insects”. Never mind the rampant use of pesticides killing most insect pollinators.
