I would say a Toaster with temperature control.
Can be used to toast stuff and heat stuff with without burning it
This is japan for fucks sake. Rice maker bro.
Buy a non stick pan, it’s the perfect way to toast something without sacrificing counter space.
If it has to be a machine, I’d go for a microwave. Alternatively, one of these cheap toaster ovens, depending on what you want to make.
But really, I’d probably go for a nice frying-pan, spaghetti-pot and definitely for a “this-is-a-knoife” knife first.

Basically, all I usually need at home for cooking appliances is an IH stove, a microwave/convection oven combo, and a simple toaster oven. I also have a food processor that I sometimes pull out, but a simple blender would probably be more generally useful.
I’m a heathen and cook my rice in a regular pot. It’s easy enough.
