What’s the difference between 嬉し and 幸せ.

And an another question is why do we use “だった” in 幸せ だった and “かった” in
嬉しかった?

  1. 嬉しい is more like pleased/glad
幸せ is happiness, something more lasting
嬉しかった because 嬉しい is an い adjective, 幸せ だった because 幸せ is a な adjective

  2. 幸せ is a な adjective, so add だった to make it non present tense. It means good fortune, luck

嬉しい is a い adjective, so remove the い and add かった. It means happy, glad

  3. One way to ask someone to marry you is to ask that they make you shiawase.

When they say yes you are ureshii
