hello,
i will be a resident/student in japan for the next four years. my parents want me to open a second bank account with a banker’s office in both the us+japan so they can transfer/deposit money with minimal issues. i see that there is a bank of america in tokyo (and in my parent’s hometown) but the golden question is if this bank address is accurate and open for consumer use. thank you.

I’m pretty sure the Bank of America office in Tokyo is a corporate office only.
Folks here recommend Charles Schwab as they apparently allow you to use your debit card internationally without any fees. So you could get cash easily enough although you’ll still want a domestic bank account to use transfers and get paid.
