Watching a TV drama. Something happened and a character said something. Based on context I would assume it’s a Japanese form of “I’ll be” or “what do you know!”
But I’m having trouble with translation. I attempted to translate, but I think it’s colloquial and doesn’t translate directly. It’s some variation of ita. Sounds like iittaa, but as it’s said in surprise, I know the sound can differ from the actual word. What is the phrase used and the best English translation?

Could it be イタ or イタッ which mean “ouch”?
