which readings should i learn

when I search up a kanji on [jisho.org](https://jisho.org) it can show up to 20 readings for a single kanji. should I be learning all of them or should I just learn one at a time?

  1. Kanji has many readings and it’s reading rely on context.
For example, five ‘日’ in below sentence.
    ”’3月1日は日曜日で祝日、晴れの日でした”’

However, each ‘日’ reading is different.

    1日→ついたち(tsuitachi)
    日曜日→にちようび(nichiyoubi)
    祝日→しゅくじつ(shukujitsu)
    晴れの日→はれのひ(harenohi)

As TACkleBr says, learning kanji reading by vocabulary is best way to learn japanese.

  2. Yes, eventually you should know all of the readings if you want to be fluent. For now, just take your time. It’ll get easier as you go.
