Hello, to my knowledge, those in the Kansai region often speak with a “ya” or “ja” at the end of words/sentences. Is this for the entire western region or just the ones further west?
What accent do those in the east have? Do they even have an accent, or is it just the standard Tokyo accent?
What are good examples of strong eastern and western accents?
Thank you,

Hello, just want to add this: I know they have accents because of their different dialects. ^-^
I can’t really speak for dialects, but in Kansai-ben や•じゃ are the dialectal versions of the copula だ. Da is more widespread in the northern/eastern dialects. There’s a [neat map here](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/51/Ja_da_ya.png).
The “pitch accent”/tone system is also different between Eastern and Western Japanese dialects so whilst Tōkyō says 川 *kàwá*, Ōsaka says *káwà*
