Sapporo Recommendations (Feb 2-7, 2023)

Looking for some recommendations for Sapporo things to do / restaurant recommendations:

We currently fly into CTS on Feb 2 by 1:30PM and will be spending sometime to wander the airport and explore their food court and shops.

Feb 3 – we will be visiting the Morning Market in search of King Crab and other crab dishes – any recommendations afterwards?

Feb 4 – we are dedicating this morning to visit Otaru specifically for the Snow Miku Festival at Wing Bay . If we finish early, we will be visiting some of the sites below.

Feb 5 – we are returning back to Otaru to visit a bunch of stores and sites (Sankaku Market ; Otaru City General Canal Museum ; Denuki Koji ; Sakaimachi ; LeTao ; Glass stores) As most things are closed by 6PM in Otaru, we will be returning to Sapporo to begin the Sapporo Snow Festival visits

Feb 6 – Sapporo Snow Festival in the morning, then we will be visiting Hokkaido Shrine and the Sapporo Olympic Museum. We have a dinner reservation at Novelle Pousse Okurayama afterwards.

Feb 7 – We will try and visit Asahikawa for the Shoyu Ramen stores (Aoba and Tenjin) and also the Asahikawa Winter Festival.

Are there any restaurant recommendation / must visit locations?

We’ve skipped the White Lovers (as we’re not big chocolate fans) and the Sapporo Beer Museum (due to pregnancy).

  1. – Suage soup curry is good, but lines were kinda long and not fun to wait in the cold for. If lines are to long they have a few shops in Tokyo if you’re going to be there.
    – Parfaiteria Pal great parfait places lots of interesting flavor combinations that aren’t as common.
    – Daruma for jinguskan

  2. Gotsubo Oyster Bar. It’s mostly standing room outside (yes, in the cold) and there are like 6 seats inside, most people seem to just stop by for a snack then move on. You can get your oysters raw, lightly grilled, & grilled. There are a few other cooked items as well in case you can’t have raw shellfish due to pregnancy.
