I don’t know if anyone here can answer this, but it came to my attention that a company I used to work for 3 years ago is sending out emails to my clients under my name.
One of my clients contacted me by line and sent a screenshot of the email he received, it was my name in the header and it had my signature. I don’t work there so they are using my name and gravitas in the field I still work in to get replies. I work in the same industry but for a different firm so this is going to impact me (to what extent I have no idea).
Is this even legal? Sending out emails from someone who doesn’t work for you and hasn’t since mid 2020?
I am thinking about contacting them directly to ask them to stop, but I think maybe going the legal route might be better as I still work in the same field.
Any advice appreciated.
