Looking for advice on Rainbow Bridge

Hello everyone, I will be travelling to Japan late April this year, and would like to visit Rainbow Bridge, and take pictures of the bridge itself and the views while crossing it.From what I know, there are the North and South routes that do not connect anywhere on the bridge.

I intend to take both routes, and was wondering if anyone could recommend me the best times to visit each route to get the best view and also some spots to take photos of the bridge itself!

I also seen someone mention that the a route was closed recently, does anyone know if/when it will be opened again?

Do feel free to drop any additional tips/recommendations, I would really appreciate it!

Night seems to be the obvious choice. Since I’ve never crossed the bridge on anything but the train I can’t say which view is good, daytime views of Tokyo are meh and at night the lights inside the train prevent you from seeing the exterior. Doesn’t help the train is central to the bridge and the limited view of the city is also hindered by layers of fences. I can only say the north side looks up the Sumida river and the south side faces Odaiba.

As far as external views are concerned, if you get out at Daiba station there’s s promenade, a park and a Statue of Liberty and from here you can even see the Tokyo tower tipping the skyline. Plenty of photo ops if you’re into landscape photography. Further into Odaiba there’s Telecom Center. Not sure of the hours but there’s an observation deck where you can take pictures of the bridge and tower more suited for telephotos. Since I’ve only been there in the day I have no idea if it’s lights off or on at night. If it’s the latter best bring a coat to block out reflections that may interfere with pictures since it’s all indoors. Going back to the other side, If you get out at Takeshiba station there’s also a promenade near a few ferry terminals. Make your way south along the water past the hotels there’s a little park where you can get down by the water for more landscape photos.

Also, not sure if your activities will will be restricted by train schedules or if you’re staying nearby or plan on driving, but if you intend to check it out late they do turn the bridge lights off at midnight.
