Should I study animation in Japan (I live in the US)
I’m in high school right now, and when I graduate I really want to go to Japan to study animation and possibly work for an animation company like MAPPA or something after (so I plan on living there and working there). I’m not an anime freak or something I just really like the art style and enjoy drawing this style lol. Also, I am aware of how animators are underpaid.
I’m wondering, will this plan work? I already did some research and found schools that have language schools attached to them, so I’m going to learn Japanese first and then attend one of those schools to learn animation. I’m currently also doing some Japanese on Duolingo haha to at least be a little prepared.
Thank you! (I’m sorry if I’m not being specific enough)

You don’t wanna work for MAPPA bro 💀💀look up anything about their working conditions
I’m not sure which visa category an animator fits under. But in general, any type of work visa will have to show full time work, with taxes paid and that the sponsoring company is sufficiently sized and that your salary is also regular and sufficient. So freelancing animator or per job basis may be insufficient.
