Akita is basically my dream university. In order to maximize my chances of getting in, I wanted to ask those who got in:
1. Are you an international or Japanese student?
2. What was your GPA when you applied?
3. What do you think was the special factor that got you into Akita? \[anything special or outstanding in your application form\]
4. What type of entrance examination did you take? \[since Akita has 16 types of entrance examinations\]
FYI and information I found: \[speaking from an international student’s POV only\]
\- International students are required to have a GPA above 2.5 out of a 4.0 scale
\- Have all their education, visa, and legal stuff aside
\- Acceptance rate for Akita is just 12.5% according to their website.
\- the most recent successful applicants for international students in their April 2023 admissions is just 2.
On an honest viewpoint, a 2.50 GPA isn’t the highest- many students have higher GPAs on an average. Documents and legal stuff aside, what is Akita looking for? Based on the replies I get here, I can determine if Akita is looking for a good GPA, special achievements, having high scores on arts subjects in high school, or something else. It’d help justify their low acceptance rate. I’d also love knowing your viewpoints onto what Akita is looking for. Lmk!!
