  1. I’m not nearly as advanced as you but I can already tell you they’re gonna say immersion, immersion, immersion, so…

    Immersion, immersion, immersion!

And probably audio lessons (definitely a good idea, that’s how I solidified a lot of my particle usage). And a tutor that you speak to.

  2. Practice. Look at native kids, they are fluent, but not very advanced, something like N2 before they go to school. Even several years old kid is quite fluent, despite only several thousands of words vocabulary.

So it’s kinda important to split our practical ability, how fast and smooth we can do something, and our theoretical knowledge, how much we are able to understand ignoring time limitations. When we talk about speed and smoothness, it’s about practice. When we talk about ability to shortcut and understand a lot in short amount of time, it’s about theoretical knowledge and learning it. For example, grammar. You can learn conjugation in 20 minutes, but it’s going to take you several years before you are completely comfortable with thousands of verbs in thousands of different situations.

  3. You have to practice a lot, understanding a language is not the same as expressing yourself in this language. Listen to a lot of Japanese, read a lot of Japanese, and speak a lot with Japanese (preferably with a teacher to have a better understanding of your weaknesses, and to progress faster).
