Itinerary Check: Tokyo – Kansai – Hakone May 17 to 31, 2023.

Hello all!

I’ve been a long time lurker in the subreddit and before this trip I’ve been to Japan two times (2017 & 2019) using the guides from here. This time i’m looking for feedback as i’m (30M) traveling with my GF (27F), it’s her first time overseas (we’re from South America), so looking forward for your suggestions or comments if you think we’re squeezing too much.

A little background, we’re very fond to anime classics (specially Sailor Moon) and places with a natural environment, so we’re looking forward to get some views of Mt Fuji, we’re a little bit sedentary but fully committed to walking. Also we’re interested if there are seasonal events in our timeframe.

I’ve tried to group places in order to avoid too much transit time, but we’re completely open to re-schedule.

  1. After checking into your hotel on the first day, provided you are not too tired, you may want to have dinner in [Kagurazaka](https://jw-webmagazine.com/kagurazaka-best-things-to-do/) before going to the Metropolitan Government Building. Kagurazaka at night is also lovely. To get there, take the train from Higashi-Shinjuku and get off at Iidabashi. After dinner, you can take a train at Ushigome-Kagurazaka and get off at Tocho-Mae Station. The TMG is open until 10:00 p.m., so there is no need to rush so much. And if you are not going on the first day, why not put the 19th on your schedule? As for the route, get off at Ushigome-Kagurazaka, go to Tokyo Daijingu, take a ride from Iidabashi or Kudanshita, and get off at Otemachi. Then go around Akihabara and Asakusa in that order.
