[PSA] JMC Official Cherry Blossom Forecast is out!


Hi! I haven’t seen anyone post about this yet so I’m case anyone wasn’t aware, the first JMC cherry blossom forecast has been posted.

I know a few of us here are eager to see whether we’ll get a glimpse of sakuras on our upcoming trips, so here you go!

  1. This is probably a dumb question, but how long do the blossoms stay *after* peak bloom? I feel like I Google and see chart after chart of when buds will start to open and when they reach peak, but then what?

    Looks like we’ll be in Tokyo about 10 days after the peak bloom (which is totally fine – hitting Osaka and Kyoto right on the money and there’s plenty to do in Tokyo beyond cherry blossoms haha). What should I expect to see? Just all green trees? Bare branches? Grounds covered in fallen petals? Do they stay on the ground for a while? Just curious.
