1. Is cure dolly actually legit? I have been alternating her grammar videos with genki/anki study and so far they seem really good but almost too good. Like she keeps repeating how all other study methods other than her’s are bad and that japanese is actually sooo easy to learn/logical if you follow her advice that I feel like I’m getting scammed lol. I would love for somebody who was already good at japanese when they first watched her videos to tell me that her way of teaching the stuff is actually correct

2. I’m not even done with N5 vocabulary/kanji yet. Are there good ways for me to immerse myself and practice the minimal stuff that I do know, or should I just focus on learning more vocab and stuff before I try anything like that?

3. How do I find natives to be friends with?
   Every language learning app I’ve tried has too many creeps on that are clearly just there for dating.

4. For this sentence:

   たくさんの友達が私の誕生日パーティーに来てくれました

   Would 来てもらいました be an equally valid way to end the sentence?

   Would it become valid if I used いただく instead of もらう?

5. Was wondering about this:

   > ずっとずっと、真子が自慢に思ってくれるような、きれいな若々しいおばあちゃんでいて見せるわ。

   I can’t quite figure out what いて見せる is doing here. Is it いる?

   Context: 真子’s grandmother saved her from a kidnapper.

   I think this says something like, “For a long long time, 真子 proudly thinks of her beautiful young grandmother” but I’m not so sure.

6. This is just a dumb comment, but it surprised me how the second kanji in the name 長瀞 (Nagatoro, of [anime and manga fame](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don%27t_Toy_with_Me,_Miss_Nagatoro)) is completely hyougai, even though it’s used in the name of a [town in Saitama](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nagatoro,_Saitama) as well. If my impression of jinmeiyou correct, that you’re not allowed to have a hyougai kanji in your name, what would that mean for someone (hypothetically) with Nagatoro’s name? Would she have to write that kanji in kana on, like, legal documents? Basically I was just surprised to find a hyougai kanji in a name.
