Yes. It is your money and time, but N5 is so basic that you might want to consider just taking a practice unless you have a need to show your progress off to others.
Yup. You can even skip levels. If you manage to get to, let’s say N4 by December, you can definitely skip N5 – and if you wanted to, you could retake it in July (availability pending).
