I grew up listening to a lot YMO as it tends to be popular with those into house in Chicago. He will be missed for sure.
RIP
Damn….R.I.P. 🙁
I just discovered this guy by accident a few months ago when a DJ at an event played a track that was the perfect balance of Bowie, Talking Heads, and Twin Shadow.
It was from the What Me Worry album.
That album has been in heavy rotation for me since then. Some of the tracks on that are perfect. **PERFECT** They dial into my DNA and electrify my shot nerves like the sizzle of atomic neon in an alternate 1982 Tokyo cityscape. I can hear this music flowing out of a robo cabaret on a warm night as that last hit of Kirachrome enters my brain and the flashbacks to my cockpit over the Battle for Kyushu almost make me black out. Life here in the lower districts of Tokyo 2 isn’t easy, but Takahashi managed to capture it all from his own timeline somehow. Absolutely brilliant.
Rest in peace. A total legend
Rest In Peace, sir
