TOEFL or TOEIC for job-hunting in Japan?

Hello everyone!
I’m planning to study in Kyoto next September and to do 就活. I’m a master’s degree graduate in Japanese language and literature and I’ve already lived in Tokyo, but never did any job-hunting activities. I’m not a native English speaker so I was wondering if it would be better to have a TOEFL score rather than a TOEIC score on my resumee.

  1. Why would a test of English ability have anything to do with job hunting in Japan, where they speak Japanese?

  2. Make sure you study for whichever one you choose as even for natives those tests can be difficult if not prepared.
