Of course there are droves of IT workers here and even more English teachers (the majority seemingly wanting to transition to being IT workers!), but what about people working in the most traditionally Japanese fields? Having lived in Kyoto I know there’s several foreigners working with Japanese tea, just to give an example. What else? Are there any kimono kitsuke-shi’s here? Professional shamisen musicians? Washi-makers? Buddhist monks? Shinto priests? Post in the comments below and let us know how you got into this line of work and what your day-to-day is like!
