We are a mid 20s couple planning a big trip to Japan for the dates October 7 (arrive 5:45PM at Haneda)-22nd. We are relatively slow travelers, ie we like to walk around a lot and just explore but since we will likely not be able to come back for a long time. Usually we visit Europe and since my husband is fluent in the languages and grew up there we never really plan trips and kindof just get around. This will be a first trip with a true “itinerary” and we’d like to have general plans for each day.
I’m overwhelmed with trying to figure out how to piece everything together, so far we have just made a giant aggregate list of things that might be of interest to us in Tokyo. Obviously we’d like to visit other parts of Japan during the trip, so how many days do you suggest we spend in Tokyo for what we have? Is there anything we are missing (ie daytrip to Nara, is it really worth it if we don’t care about the deer?) or must see/do?
We are really into trying as much food as possible as well.
