Hey guys! I have some experience working in digital marketing, both at a Japanese company and freelance, and I’m currently looking to get back into having a full time position as covid winds down. Freelance was a good experience, but I keep finding myself in positions where I either have 100 hour work weeks, or practically nothing at all, and since I’m looking to have some more balance in my life it seems like getting a consistent schedule would be one of the best places to start.
I’ve heard a lot of people talk about working for a “marketing MCN” in Japan, or a “multinational global marketing company” / gaishikei in Japan. However, when actually attempting to do some research on global marketing companies in Japan, I’m being bombarded with 1000’s of companies, many of them startups with only a few employees, and it’s starting to become a massive time sink to parse through all of these, check employee reviews, etc, etc.
I was wondering if somebody who works in this environment could share with me a list of some of their personal recommended companies to apply to, either via this post or over DM?
A bit about me: This is my 8th year in Japan. I’m 27. I have N1, and I feel comfortable working in Japanese. I have 2.5 years left on a humanities/ int. services visa, I got a degree in International studies / relations at decent Japanese university. I have 4 years of experience in marketing / translation. Also, I currently reside in Tokyo.
Thanks for any help you can offer!
