Mount Kongo has multiple hiking trails (10 in total, I think). Some are closed in winter, some are open, but require winter hiking or mountaineering gear.
Since Mount Kongo has enough elevation to keep snow, ice and black ice for extended periods of time – even for the easiest trail (full trail) – winter cleats are generally strongly recommended.
Right now, you had just blizzards, snow drifts and avelanche risk, so going in the next couple of days may be along the lines of suicidal.
