Freelancing in Japan

Currently, I work full time and I am on a humanities visa. However, I want to work as a Freelancer beside my full-time position. Is that possible? It would be the same activity I do at the company right now. I plan to build a career as a Freelancer. If I were to switch to full-time freelancing with clients mainly from abroad in the future, would that be possible on a spouse or work visa? (I am engaged to a Japanese national. ;D) I would appreciate any advice I can get.

  1. Spouse visa = yes, not a problem

Work visa, within the same category, but for clients/employers located overseas = no, you need immigration’s permission. If they were just Japanese employers/clients within the same scope of your SOR and CoAE then not a problem.
