Sakazen. Many locations, Shinjuku is the best store if you ask me.
Try big-b in Nishigotanda. They have some enormous sizes that I haven’t seen anywhere
There’s some:
1. a colleague of mine buys basketball shoes, because they are available in huge sizes. yes they look a bit weird paired with a boring business suite or turtleneck, but comfy feet are comfy feet 😉 2. order from Australia. they got great sizes there. 3. [maybe] walk barefoot. there’s a “barefoot Mike” (don’t recall the actual name) in Tokyo, he made that his most obvious strait.
If all else fails, Amazon or even ebay can work if you need to import.
Adidas online store always has 13s and 14s in stock
As an alternative to all the suggestions given here, you can also order them through Rakuten. They do clearance sales pretty often and prices (for my 32cm shoes) are dirty cheap.
It’s getting easier to get stuff online now (31cm here). But if you are in a hurry or want to try things on, Big B in Gotanda as others have stated.
Depending on the shoe call local retail shops of western retailers – adidas, Cole haan, ecco, etc. make sure they have your size in the store then go and try on at the store. Every brand seems to have different sizing. I never had any luck with the Japanese malls or department stores. I’d bet Japanese men have like 4 different sizes so very easy to stock. They might have a pair of 33’s sit around for 2 years.
Honestly just buy them online and cross your fingers the sizes are what they say they are.
I’m size 32, and aside from the options listed here that I haven’t tried yet, I pretty much gave up on trying to find shoes here. Major overseas retailers such as Nike and Adidas may be able to special order, but the average store isn’t going to have anything in stock.
Jeezus. I’m a 29cm and feel like I win the lottery when a standard shoe store has my size. 30cm+ would be a goddamned unicorn.
