Question about paid leave

I have 30.5 days of paid leave.
According to Japan’s law, Is there a maximum paid leave can I have? (Sorry for stupid questions I didn’t take any days off since 2 years)

  1. Paid leave lapses after 2 years, and the theoretical maximum amount of days that you can receive in a year is 20 days. So the theoretical maximum is 40 days.

Note from 2019, companies must require their employees to spend a minimum of 5 days paid leave per year. I’m surprised that they didn’t force you to take leave.

  2. The Labour Standards Law only stipulates the minimum number of days the company must give you each year based on your work hours and length of service.

You would have to check your company rules about the maximum number of days you can have at any given time and the rules on carryover. In general, most companies won’t allow you to carry over PTO for more than two years.
