Online Visa Renewal Woes

So I posted about a week ago with a question about the online visa renewal system, only to figure out the answer moments later (there was also a helpful redditor that confirmed it).

Now I’m back in the nightmare zone because I realized today that I made an error on the application.

I have a spouse visa and there’s a section that asks for where and when you submitted proof of marriage to your country.

I did remember going to my country’s embassy so I tried to fill that question in as best as I can. I realized after the fact that I never actually showed them my Japanese marriage certificate because my country doesn’t accept them, and apparently I was supposed to leave that question blank.

I’ve got just under 2 months before my visa expires so depending on how long it takes for them to reject my application, assuming it’s grounds for rejection, I feel like I could get kicked out.

How screwed am I? Anyone else ever been in a similar situation that could give any advice? If so I’d greatly appreciate it.

  1. I guess its waiting game now. If they need anything , then they will send you mails for additional documents.
This is also the reason, I never do via online. Just a few hours to immigration and job is done.

  2. What country? Because many countries have treaties with Japan which validate marriages between each so they don’t need to be ratified in the other. US, for example.

First, they sent you an email confirming they received your application right? Check for it. It says that email is your proof of being in the process and if your visa runs out, print that email and keep it on you. If you’re in the process, they won’t just kick you out.

Second, if they have any issues they’ll contact you. I got a letter in the mail asking for other documents to prove some weird work/money situation on my end.
