Whenever you find a word that’s being used in a different way, make a card for it and use the sentence that it came from on the back. How you identify which card is which is up to you, I’ve seen people write a hint on the front next to the word, some people use numbers to signify their jisho listings, others just use symbols.
I prefer word on the front with sentence on the back but I think this is one of the few times where having the sentence on the front of the card is an advantage.
I sentence, so if I come across a word that has multiple meanings, I remember it in the context of that sentence. Then, whenever I come across the same word in a different context and meaning, I then also put that sentence in with the same word as a completely different card.
