HomeNew Japan Pro WrestlingI’ve been loving the storytelling for this whole Narita/Suzuki angle. I love how EVIL calls Narita’s nickname “Son Of Strong Style” an “S.O.S” because subconsciously he’s calling out for help.

I also love the contrast between how Suzuki and Despy are talking to Narita.
Suzuki wants Narita to be aware that by using such a loaded moniker carelessly, he’s inadvertantly insulting Suzuki himself, who actually is a strong style legend.
Despy, on the other hand, seems to almost gently warn Narita of the dangers of writing cheques you can’t cash, and how Narita might not be aware of the burden he’s placed on himself with that nickname, and of how much he’ll need to do to live up to it.
It’s so good. This idea that Narita’s Shibata cosplay might actually be a sign of insecurity on his part.
edit: Also, this isn’t related to the story, but I just wanna shout out how funny Sho’s line is here:
“Besides, Setsubun was yesterday, morons! Us demons survived, so it’s clear sailing from here!”
Setsubun is the day just before spring starts in japan, where festivals are held to drive away evil spirits.
