Just wondering if you have watched “the makanai” on Netflix? I was looking up this recipe after one of the episodes. Yours looks so delicious!
Funny how typical german housewife cooking looks almost exactly like this. The only difference is that it would be rice *or* potatoes as a source of starch, never both and also that the amount of meat would be higher in comparison to the amount of veggies. I guess it is a Béchamel base cream sauce? Do you maybe know anything about the history of this dish in Japan?
Its very easy way to koook them same as curry rice. I guess it is fit with bread. and also it is Japanese house cooking recipie. then so it is hard to eat that in Japanese restrant.
My mom made this often when I was a kid. Seeing how easy it is (at least with the roux cubes), I understand why. 😊
